Overview

Baseband Telecom Corp. is a national infrastructure, utilities and specialty contractor serving the wireless, broadband, and telecommunications markets. We plan, design, build and support communications infrastructure for our clients across the Southwest Region.

 

Our Lead Small Cell Technician is the on-site lead for small cell installations. This position performs work as directed by the Construction Manager and should be proficient at completing tasks and meeting the clients installation & testing standards as well as supervising and directing the other BBT technicians and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Follow direction of Construction Manager/ Project Manager
  • Ability to lead and direct Technicians and Apprentices in all aspects of DAS installation & Small Cell Services
  • Able to manage daily production of installation quality and schedule
  • Transporting materials
  • Ability to conduct Site walk for venues, small cell sites, stadiums, MDU’s retail stores
  • Documentation of site walks for future bidding.
  • Competent at pulling both Coax, CAT5, 6, 6A and Fiber.
  • Able to accept direction, but also able to make good decisions when left to work un-supervised.
  • Expert at Coax Cable Termination (JMA connector Certified)
  • Thorough working knowledge of PIM, Sweep, & OTDR Testing of both Coax & Fiber must be Anritsu Certified
  • Basic Understanding of frequency band, protocols, and terminology.
  • Possess a good level of building code knowledge to be able to do a fully compliant installation.
  • Capable of reading the iBW Design documentation and understanding the different installation components.
  • Basic knowledge with Fusion splicing and fiber optic testing
  • Begin understanding troubleshooting philosophies and procedures
  • Understanding commissioning and tuning philosophies.
  • Ability to collect data / pictures for closeout package
  • Basic understanding of all OEM Products and Services (Ericsson Certification, Nokia Certification, Samsung, Corning, Spider Cloud, CommScope, etc.)
  • Manage crew time and production each day.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Five or more years of industry related experience
  • Ability to represent Baseband Telecom with accountability and a “Can Do Attitude”
  • Ability to work within maintenance window hours (midnight to 6 am) or daytime as scheduled based on project scope and adheres reliably to schedule.
  • Ability to use technical skills to work independently and within a team and execute responsibilities as well as solve problems.
  • Ability to utilize and care for company vehicle and test equipment
  • Computer and MS Office Proficient, Excel, Outlook, and PDF primarily
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • OSHA 30 certified.
  • Scissor lift certified.
  • Bucket Truck certified
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with a team or alone
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, criminal background check and driver’s license verification

Pay range: $27.00 - $35.00 hourly depending on experience.
